A fun and friendly art group for adults of all ages!

Immerse yourself in creativity with our weekly 3 hour sessions over 14 weeks. This unique program of inspiring projects is designed to expand your knowledge and strengthen your artistic skills. Each week is a new opportunity to learn, grow your confidence, and have fun making art together!

We believe everyone has an inner artist - and we're here to help you find it!

 

Throughout each 14-week season, you’ll be guided in creating beautiful works of art across four different media - Pencil, Oil Pastels, Watercolour and Acrylics. We cover a wide selection of subjects including figurative work, landscapes, still-life compositions and contemporary, colourful studies. Plus, you won’t need to worry about purchasing or bringing any art materials with you as everything is provided in class to help you create your stunning masterpieces.

 

By the end of the course, you’ll have a portfolio of your own original drawings and paintings ready to share with the world. Whether you’re new to art or looking to build on your skills, you’ll have the confidence to create art that truly stands out.

ENGAGING

The curriculum is designed to be easy and entertaining, ideal for beginners who have never picked up a brush before, through to those who are looking to enhance their existing skills.

With clear, straightforward tuition and personal guidance we introduce you to the fundamentals of drawing and painting. You’ll gain an understanding of colour theory and discover how to construct your own visually appealing compositions.

Not only will you develop your artistic ability, you’ll also have a warm, inviting environment to encourage and inspire you. Our friendly group is a diverse mix of individuals with a shared interest, who are keen to try new things and even learn a thing or two about each another.

Can I join if I have no prior experience?

Absolutely! The Seasons Art Class is designed to be inclusive and welcoming for total beginners as well as more experienced artists.

Is the class suitable for all ages?

The Seasons Art Class is suitable for ADULTS of all ages. We’d love to welcome you - get in touch to find out more!

On what day is the class held?

Tuesday

9.30am to 12.30pm

 

Thursday

Morning - 10am to 1pm

Afternoon - 2pm to 5pm

How many students are there in a class?

At Seasons Art Darlington we generally limit our places to a maximum of 20 students in any one class. This number works very well, giving everyone plenty of space for creating while staying intimate enough to connect and make friends. All leading to a fun and lively environment!

What materials would I need to bring?

There's no need to worry about purchasing or bringing any art materials with you as everything is provided in class and included in the course fees.

Do you hold evening or weekend classes?

Unfortunately, we don’t offer evening or weekend classes right now. We currently run the course every Tuesday (morning) and Thursday (morning and afternoon) These daytime classes have proved to be very popular and are convenient for those tied to family obligations and other commitments during the evenings or weekends.

Do you provide any refreshments?

But of course! All free of charge, you have a choice of tea, coffee or fruit juice when you first arrive. Halfway through the lesson we have a short break with another beverage and a selection of biscuits (we find the shortbread and Jaffa cakes are particularly popular!)

Are there disabled facilities?

Yes, the venue is spacious and modern with everything on ground level. There is wheelchair access directly from the car park into the art room, a cloakroom and disabled toilet, plus ramps to access the garden.

Can I turn up on the first day to enrol?

We're thrilled to see such high demand for our classes! Due to their popularity, you would need to book up several weeks in advance. If you require more information on availability or have any questions, please feel free to get in touch.

The Seasons Art Class

The very first Seasons Art Class began in the picturesque village of Arundel, located on the South Downs in West Sussex. Run by the local art shop, the course was so popular that the demand soon increased to the neighbouring villages.  Popularity grew and the Seasons Art Class spread throughout Britain. Now, over 20 years later, there are more than 150 branches with 6,000 students every week! The Darlington Branch is owned and run by Megan Young, a professional artist and tutor with over 30 years experience.
